How to Grow Alfalfa Fodder Seeds
- Soil Preparation : Use well-drained loamy soil (pH 6–7.5) and mix vermicompost before sowing.
- Sowing : Spread seeds evenly on the soil surface, press gently, and allow 5–10 days for germination.
- Watering : Keep soil moist but never waterlogged.
- Sunlight and Climate : Needs full sunlight and grows best in warm, temperate, and subtropical regions.
- Fertilizer Care : Apply vermicompost every 15 days. Organic inputs and bio-fertilizers like Azospirillum and Phosphobacteria improve growth.
- Harvesting : Take the first cut after 90 days, then harvest every 30–40 days. Plants usually grow 60–90 cm tall.
