Protein bowl after gym: brown rice, boiled egg, cucumber, sunflower microgreens. The greens add something the bowl was missing. Light but with substance.

Heavy seeds need soaking first

Forgot to soak overnight for first batch. Germination was patchy maybe 60%. Soaked for 8 hours before second tray. 90%+ germination. Seed quality is there, just needs this prep step.

Expect to soak seeds key step

If I'd known upfront that soaking dramatically improves germination, my first tray wouldn't have been disappointing. Now I know. Add this to packaging instructions please.

Best for sandwiches by far

I've done radish, mustard, pea shoots. Sunflower microgreens are the only ones that add actual texture to a sandwich. Thick stems don't wilt under bread. Game changer.

These produced thick, sturdy shoots and filled the tray nicely. I would definitely grow another batch.

Shell removal is a bit tedious

Sunflower seeds sometimes don't shed the hull as they germinate. Had to manually remove a few. Not difficult but adds a step. Rinse gently before harvest.
