Fresh wheatgrass juice from these seeds: deep bottle green. Not pale, not yellow-green. Dark, chlorophyll-rich green. That colour is the quality indicator. I test every batch.

I juice approximately 30ml of wheatgrass daily. Growing my own means the shot is always fresh, never oxidized, never stored. The difference from bottled powder is not subtle.

Germination easy but mold risk is real

7-8 days for usable wheatgrass. Not as fast as mustard or radish. But the chlorophyll yield per tray is worth the slightly longer wait. Juicer needed not suitable for salad use.

June in Mumbai humid, warm, monsoon starting. Wheatgrass handled it. Grew inside near a window. Tray didn't overheat. Harvested on day 8. Seeds are resilient.

Third-party tip I wish I knew earlier: wheatgrass needs airflow or you'll fight mold constantly. Small fan, window open, or grow outdoors in shade. Seeds are fine. Environment matters.

I naively tried eating wheatgrass like salad. Do not. It's fibrous and unpleasant to chew. Juice it. That's the intended use. Once juiced: clean, grassy, intense green.
